How does Yipfit work?


Yipfit provides individualized workouts personalized to fit your unique health fitness needs and goals. The workouts are based on a detailed physical assessment and draw from a constantly growing database of excercises - over 550 and counting! With periodic re-assessments, Yipfit will adapt your workouts as you improve, so you never have to worry about out-growing the program. 

Is Yipfit right for me?

If you have a desire to improve your physical health and have access to a computer, laptop, smartphone or tablet then Yipfit is right for you. Yipfit is appropriate for all types of physical fitness goals; whether you want to rehabilitate a bad back or get in the best shape of your life, Yipfit will help you get there.

What equipment do I need?

Yipfit will build each workout based on whatever equipment you own. The more equipment you have the greater range of exercises offered.  Some rehab videos require specific equipment like a tennis ball and a light excercise band. 

(The ideal minimum is to have two sets of dumbells (light and moderate for yourself) and an exercise ball for workouts and a tennis ball and and physio band for rehab.  But if you find you are getting repeat exercises you might consider adding to your fitness equipment collection)

What if I don’t have time to do the workout of the day?

If you are short on time, you can select a personalized workout of the same type with a shorter duration.  Or you can select any workout that fits for the amount of time that you have.

What if I am working out away from home and don’t have my equipment with me?


Away from your equipment, no problem, just select the equipment you have access to and Yipfit will build your daily workout based upon that.

Can I play music with the workout?


We purposefully designed Yipfit to allow you to workout to the music you like.  So you can play your favorite music on itunes, groove shark or whatever you like.  The volumes are set up individually so can adjust each to your liking.

How often should I do the assessment to monitor my progress?


If you are using Yipfit just for exercise then you should repeat the assessment every 5-7 weeks.  However, if you are using it for rehab you should re-asses every 2 weeks

How does Yip fit help me rehab injuries?


Yipfit assesses your joints through multiple ranges of motion.  Based upon these findings of pain and stiffness then programs are created to improve motion and joint stability. Tight muscles of the supporting area and related structures are released and related acupressure points are also stimulated.


There are also condition specific exercise programs created by Dr. Yates for multiple conditions and injuries that you have access to.


What is Prehab?

Prehab is prevention from needing to do rehab.  YIPFit will design programs based upon your areas of weakness and tightness, found in the assessment and help you work towards creating a healthy balance

I would prefer to workout with my friend, what should I do?


Yipfit can accomodate you and your friend.  Just sign in and have your friend sign in as well.  Identify what equipment you have with you and select your workout.  Yipfit will then build a program that is appropriate for both of your needs.

Do I have to put in all of my information?


You don’t have to put your real name, however, a proper assessment and profile information is very important for Yipfit to create a fitness program that meets the needs of your body.  Many people choose upload photos to show their progress but this is not mandatory.  Please read our privacy protection policy for more information.
